The Ballad of King Wenceslas

Wenceslas, inventor of wassail

and wassailing,
Was sailing when he noted that
Wassailing is assailing, Wenceslas-style.

Summoning the town cryer, he said unto him,
“Proclaim me the good king,
For I have invented a new kind of assailing.”

But the town crier cursed the king, saying,
“From now on you shall be remembered only
By association with bad recorder music.”
And so it was, even unto this day.

BEWARE YE DO NOT REPEAT THE KING’S MISTAKE!
WASSAILING AND ASSAILING ARE UNRELATED!
