The Taser's Edge

Vals Im Bashir

I was talking to a friend yesterday about the fact that Waltz with Bashir just opened at Durham’s Carolina Theatre, and how I’ve been looking forward to seeing it for months.  He hadn’t heard about it, so I thought others might need to know about it, too.

Waltz with Bashir is an animated memoir of a young Israeli soldier’s experience in the 1982 Israeli-Lebanon War (check out Wikipedia’s take on the war here, but realize that there’s no never such a thing as an uncontested version of these things).  If you’ve been paying attention to recent events in Gaza, you should be interested in this.  Or if, like me, your mom was living and working on an Israeli kibbutz near the Lebanon border when this war started heating up, you might also be interested.

I’ve heard about this film and would like to seet it. Not sure if Glenn would like it or not, mostly because of the subtitles!
